Friday dinners

okay so I just erased my post five min before posting so this will be brief.

I went to San Antonio, TX with a fellow chef in support of her son finishing airforce boot camp. On the way down we encountered some great Mexican food right outside of Houston, man I was disappointed I couldn't eat it all. Then when we arrived to out destination.. we are some ridiculously tasty Thai food. Who would of thought? Fresh fruit and veggies sustained us the rest of the trip. Mind you it was a 14 hour trip done twice within 72hours and I almost forgot in Houston, I sampled some grill blackened seafood man.. it taste like all the butter and Cajun goodness was in the hands of some wonderful chef.

Now we are back and here is this weeks menu:

Roasted vegetable wrap with portabellos, roasted peppers and zuccihini or

Bbq chicken wrap: ground chicken marinated in bbq sauce and stuffed with onions and peppers

served with salad and well I am at a dilemma rosemary potatoes or veggie delicious baked beans

Good evening and good day for all those reading this blog. I always appreciate the new customers the have joined the ranks of Penelahpes' satisfied customers. We were so busy last week, we had not a free hand to take pictures!!!! One good thing our customers responded on facebook and I even got a few early morning phone calls about Friday Night's Dinner.

This week is particularly challenging in trying to figure out what we can do that is a simple meal with a lot of flavors. Not even gourmet just real real good comfort foods. So even as I write this the menu is still being cultivated in my mind. With all the noise in the coffee shop where I type I look over my sketched out my shopping list, and the lists gets longer and vendors are added until my paper is filled. Then i sleep on it. Well not tonight....okay I think I got it!!

Veggie burgers smothered in smoked provolone(soy) cheese

both dressed with lettuce and tomato and come with tomato salad tossed with pesto, almonds and japanese yam home fries.

Fridaynight dinners are gaining momentum thank you atl

Last week was great. Our clients were pleased with the cauliflower they normally dont eat.....and the tofu was very comforting to one our regulars who had a rough weekend... glad to add some peace wherever we can.......I, Chef Leslie, am telling your we have a terrifc staff that loves good food as much as I do and for that Penelahpes is blessed and properous.

This week's menu came to me early, but the daily life had me running around the world and I just landed. So may I have a drum roll please.......oh one more thing I had a request from B Price and Boog Brown for collard green egg rolls -- so of course i will accomodate... our motto is to "Let Us Feed You."


Teriyaki turkey Burger wrap with hoisin sauce vinaigrette


Homemade vegan black bean burgers wrap dressed with spicy chile yogurt sauce

The early part of this week I pondered a menu as usual and then I started to focus on what my children like to eat...... One of my son's dinner request is Tofu fried like the fish, so that is what I will fish for the people(repsecfully) this Friday. I also pondered flavors I enjoy but dont eat often. Jalapeno flavors, not so much for the spice but the pure delicious flavor of the pepper. Then my culinary mind further traveled to my mental food market and saw and smelled red peppers, and I wanted to share this experience with you. So this what I came up with:

Mr. Gordon's Pan Fried Tilapia or

Tofu marinated jalapeno dressing dredged in cornmeal

(Aasim calls it tofu cooked like the fish)

Both served with spectacular cauliflower, wasabi slaw

Roasted pepper cornbread

Dessert: a cobbler of sorts w. lots of berries

week 7 and PeneLAHpe's is still pushing through to feed you and make you happy

Greetings to all in the land eating great food, shoppoing a good markets and cookinfg for family and friends. BUt wait you dont have to cook on Fridays. During the past week my website was relaunched and it is fabulous Over the last couple of weeks deliveries have picked up to the point we have to add a 2$ delivery charge. Thank you food lovers in the Metro ATL area.

Up and coming events: meals by the month for superstars on the run.. dinner on Fridays delivery or pick up as early as 5pm with a few more perks

This weeks menu is a spin on confort food. This is a a dish that my children love it and never leave left overs. The dessert is something new so I am excited.

Week 5 Penelahpe's Friday night dinners and the blessings of owning a food business

I posted on my facebook at the earlier part of the week, how I enjoy running Penelahpe's and creating menus and making them come to life and being overwhelmed with deliveries and baking cakes and emails and recipe hunting and tweeking...but when I take a step back and breath and look at the beautiful creation of my staff , I am truly greatful.

Week Three-last week we sold out!!!

Greetings on this third week of the food hustle and bustle......Last week was awesome we sold out of all meals and we hope to sell more this week and the next.. Penelahpe's goal with Friday Night Dinner is for a plate of our food to touch the belly in the Atlanta Metro area, respectfully, also it is a chance for currency to flow as we feed our friends and familiy and clients.

Today we ventured to East Atlanta and shared this Friday's menu... Thank you East Atlanta for being great!!!!

This weeks menu is filled with a new delightful treat overstuffed tollhouse cookies. yes we use a tollhouse recipe because it Rocks and what we add to it is surely to be your new favorite dessert long side the "bomb shell blondie"

Week two let us feed you!!!!!!! Penelahpe's Friday Night Dinners

Good afternoon and thank you in advance. Last Friday was wonderful all around. Penelahpe's Friday Night Dinner were well received and we are contintuing on to this Friday and the Next and the next..... To my wonderful staff, thank you for all your on time help in the kitchen, on line, on the phone and in the streets. Thursday we are back ar it in the kitchen. This weeks menu had a new item to many Red Rice, it is great grain, it cooks like brown rice and sautees nicely with onions and spices and coconut oil, if you want to get fancy. In addition i am making carrot cake with cream cheese vanilla cream cheese icing... no this is not part of vegetarian or fat free but loveful!!!!!!!!!


Pan Fried tilapia wrapped in savory nan bread served with Indian spiced red rice, and mixed greens.


Veggie philly somthered with bell peppers and smoked provolone ( vegan) cheese wrapped in savory nan bread and served with sweet potato fries and wasabi slaw ( not too spicy)

Dessert: Super moisted carrot cake with vanilla cream cheese icing.

Penelahpe's Friday Dinners are here!!!!!!!

Penelahpe's began delivery wonderful healthy lunches around the Decatur and Atlanta area, about four years ago, repectfully.

Well we are at it again!

Calling all families, groups of friends, singles, barbershops, beauty shops, tattoo shops,car washes, clothing boutiques, my brothers and sisters in the lab, new moms and dads..... Penelahpe's would like to FED YOU!

A lot of people's Fridays are crazy and after all it also the end of the week,who wants to cook, better yet who wants fast food to slow you down at the beginning of the weekend?

Penelahpe's has the solution: Friday night Dinner just view menu and pay on this, blog, Facebook, and call in (4046459233) or email orders to Dinners will be ready at 5 for pick up and delivery will begin at 7pm. Minimum delivery two plates, homemade drinks will be available. Delivery stops at 9pm, unless otherwise convinced.

We begin May 14th. Between now and then send me your Penelahpe's favorites meals. But for starters:
